TUNAWHAKAPEKE

ROADWORKS, DRAINAGE, WASTEWATERS

Tunawhakapeke is a Hamilton based, 72 home subdivision that required bulk earthworks, water reticulation common services trenching, pavement construction, drainage installation, kerb and channel and asphalt surfacing. To date we have moved 5500m3 of dirt.

We are proud to have been a part of this unique project right from the beginning. Unusually we worked alongside the builders and other sub trades while the houses were being constructed. Sharing a site of this scale allowed us to prove that with good communication and savvy work practices, the earthworks can be completed cohesively with the house’s construction, giving our client a more desirable timeframe.

Tunawhakapeke is an elevated urban subdivision with beautiful homes, and the only evidence that we were there is the gleaming new road through the middle. This project still has another 2 years until the final completion. We are excited to return for the next stages and to continue to work with Burns Construction and Veni Homes in creating their masterpiece.

Killarney Road

Working amongst a live sewer main, a live corridor, the rail corridor, many existing underground services, and all these in a high traffic area, this was an interesting project to undertake.

We executed over 200m of open cut trenching, alongside HDD/Pipe jacking 300 uPVC pipe, up to 4 meters deep as part of the Hamilton City Council waste water upgrade.

Exceeding our clients expectations, we effectively balanced the traffic and pedestrian management, the impact to the residents, and completed the project.

Parawera Marae

JC Civil were engaged by Raukawa Charitable Trust to upgrade their carpark, plus a new pavement and kerb line construction for Parawera Marae. Our in-house concrete team proudly created both the machine extruded and hand formed flush nib kerb.

During construction we worked collaboratively with Iwi and residents to guarantee their access to the Marae at all stages, including while the Marae held an important hui and a tangi. We utilised steel plates and temporary ramps to guarantee we didn’t disrupt any proceedings.

Hauraki Rail Trail

We are honoured to work for the charitable trust who protects the magic that is the Hauraki District Rail Trail. The Rail Trail offers cyclists 197km of track, travelling through Kaiaua, Thames, Paeroa, Waihi, Te Aroha, and Matamata.

To ensure the safe use for cyclists and other track users, we have upgraded and maintained the track at various points including constructing a timber board walk and repairing pathways.

For this project, we carried out a unique and specialised deep open cut 7m underground to complete a sewer main upgrade for Hamilton City Council Network!

This project involved using our specialised skills in deep drainage, slide rail trench shoring and dewatering!
